Iguazu National Park
Iguazu National Park is a world heritage site known for numerous cascading waterfalls and diversity in plants and animals. Through research, I found that the land had previously been occupied by the Guarani, an Indigenous tribe native to South America. I chose to take inspiration from their patterns, shapes, and styles and incorporate them into the logo, and keep the patterns as cohesive elements throughout the site’s branding. I chose to create a jaguar made of Gourani-inspired designs because Jaguars are found in the park, and are one of the endangered animals that live in the park. In the logo, the typeface is slightly more stylized than the brand heading typeface, but they match in style. The text on the logo balances with the jaguar, it has organic edges, but doesn’t overtake the jaguar’s detailed design.
